PROJECT SANG

Privacy

In short: no ads, no tracking, no selling of data. You can read everything without an account.

Reading the site

Reading needs no account and sets no cookies. There are no advertising or analytics scripts. Like any website, our server may keep short technical logs (address, time, page) to keep the site working and secure.

The live sky

The sky in the footer shows the real sun, moon and weather for your approximate location. To find it, our server sends your IP address to ipwho.is once; we do not store or log the address. The coordinates are rounded to about 10 km before the weather is fetched from Open-Meteo. If the lookup fails, the sky shows Dushanbe.

Cookies and browser storage

  • sang_account — keeps you signed in, up to 14 days.
  • sang_editorial — for editors only, up to 8 hours.
  • Your 3D viewer settings stay in your own browser (local storage).

Nothing else: no advertising or analytics cookies.

If you create an account

  • Email and password (stored only as a secure hash), or your email and name from Google if you sign in with Google.
  • Display name, and the bio, interests and language you choose to add; your profile is private unless you make it public.
  • What you do on the site: saved items, likes, comments and articles you write.
  • For your security: the devices signed in to your account (browser and IP address), which you can see and sign out in Profile & security.

Account emails (confirmation, password reset) are sent through Google’s Gmail.

Where it is kept

On our own server, rented from Hetzner. We do not sell or share personal data, and use it only to run the site and your account.

Your choices

You can edit your profile, make it private and sign out other devices at any time. You can delete your account in Profile & security; personal profile data is kept for 30 days for recovery and abuse review, then removed.

For anything else, write to closer.than.veins.tj@gmail.com.
